An update on the tomatoes growing in my greenhouse

    October 9, 2011

I am guilty, when I pick tomatoes and other vegetables, some are eaten right there in my garden. Well, yesterday, I found a small ripe tomato on the High Fructose tomato plant in the greenhouse and I ate it then and there, the favor was delicious, although the skin was really tough. The same species is growing outside in the Cafeteria garden has tender skin and are of the same size. My question is? Is this common? That the greenhouse produces tougher tomato skins. I have picked a couple of the Black Italian tomato plant growing in the greenhouse, but not eaten one at the time I picked it, as they are very large and would really be messy. I use a knife in the house as I prepare them for sandwiches or salads and haven’t noticed the skin texture being tough. Something to ponder on. Hope you are all doing well.
