    Color for Fall Fashion

    November 22, 2011

    Color for Fall Fashion

Fall, to me means color in the garden that is lovely and peaceful.

I need to enjoy it before the leaves fall and leave me with shades of grey and brown.  The majority of my trees leaves have been picked up and bagged or in my compost

pile , although with the wind and rain yesterday as I look at the window I can see there are more on the ground.  This could be my decorative look for the yard if I leave them.  What do you think?  (I hope you are smiling)

It feels good to get a lot done before the weather really turns, if it were not for the holiday coming up I could have cleaned a bit more.  But needed to tackle the house and plan for family coming and the holiday  meals.  I am so excited to have my family here, we do not see them often and miss them.

In my protected garden (which you have heard me refer to as the Cafeteria Garden) The leeks that I planted last spring are looking good and ready to be used in a soup.  For this coming year I have planted some onions, green onions, spinach and lettuce, I am hoping to plant some fava beans also.

In the upper garden I have some cabbage,  more lettuce and garlic.

I am hoping that all of you are well and comfortable for the coming holidays.
