I must have been grumpy
December 17, 2011In re-reading my last entry, it shows that I was grumpy. Thank goodness I could go back and see the lovely color of my Japanese maple, wasn’t it a pretty color? The leaves have fallen now and almost everything is bare. I have just come in from blowing up the leaves in the driveway. Tomorrow I will go out into the Memory Garden and rake the piles of leaves and bag them for composting, and then bag up the pile of leaves in the drive. I am really counting on the composted leaves to keep the weeds down in the garden beds.
Yesterday I checked to see if my cuttings in the greenhouse seedbed, had any roots yet, they didn’t so I am not able to repair the seed/cutting tray yet. It is ok; there are a few weeks, before I need to start my spring seeds. What fun I did bring in a ripe tomato for dinner from the vines in the greenhouse.
This morning I was doing some quilting, before going outside. I was waiting for the temperatures to rise. I am working on what I am calling my ugly quilt. It brings a smile every time I work on it. In case you are curious, the colors are chartreuse, purple, black with crazy squares of multi colors. When I get a bit more done on it I will post a photo of it.
